I'm running the 2015 Chicago Marathon to support Great Lakes Adaptive Sports (GLASA), a non-profit organization that does so much to help ambulatory and wheelchair athletes train and compete in a variety of sports. My son Aaron began running and swimming with GLASA when he was 10 years old. He has enjoyed meeting other athletes with disabilities through GLASA's track and swim programs and has improved greatly over the past several years. Thanks to the skills he developed with GLASA, lasst Aaron was a three season athlete (cross country, swim, and track) for Evanston Township High School. On June 19-21 he had the honor of completing for Team GLASA at the U.S. Paralympics Track and Field National Championships. (Aaron is third from the right in the back row of the team photo.) He is now a sophomore on the ETHS cross country team and had a very successful first race, covering a 3100 meter course in 13:50, a 7:10 per mile pace.
