"Let no one sit on the sideline"
Hello friends and family,
On October 11th, I will be running the 2015 Chicago Marathon to raise money for Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) and their athletes. For the past few months I have had the opportunity to take part in working with GLASA athletes. I have been touched and inspired by the determination and athleticism of these disabled athletes, so I want to do something to give back to them. What better way to do this than by using my athleticism to run the 2015 Chicago Marathon.
GLASA promotes and supports the development and well being of youth and adults who have a physical or visual impairment. The organization provides recreational, fitness and competitive sports activities and offers opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership and training. The quality of life should never be limited by a physical or visual impairment.
GLASA is a non-profit organization that offers over 30 different sport programs, including: track and field, swimming, golf, soccer, softball, hockey, tennis, wheelchair basketball and football, weight lifting, and yoga. Each of these programs features customized adaptive equipment and specialized coaching to allow all individuals to participate and succeed.
Through this fundraiser, I hope not only to raise funds for GLASA, but awareness of this organization as well. Ninety-three cents of every dollar raised will go directly into GLASA programs. Any contribution you can make in support of this cause, no matter how small will have a positive impact for GLASA. Please donate and show your support for disabled athletes!
