Family and Friends,
As you may know or have figured, I am running yet ANOTHER marathon. What would my life be like without training for another marathon? I am running the Chicago Marathon this October. This time is a little different though.
During each marathon I have run, I have seen other runners running without a leg (or 2), pushing in a wheelchair, or running blind with a guide (I hope to be a guide for Boston 2016). While I think my running a marathon is hard, these individuals are true inspirations.
I have teamed up with GLASA, Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association. “The Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association believes that the quality of life should never be limited by a physical or visual impairment. We believe that it is possible to remove boundaries, elevate expectations, fulfill dreams, enhance self-worth and empower individuals with disabilities in competitive and recreational sports.” Through GLASA, individuals have access to be able to participate in all types of sports regardless of disability.
Please consider donating to the wonderful organization and help me reach my fundraising goal for the Chicago Marathon.
